Spinal & Extremity Adjustments:
Restrictions and misalignments in the body occur from a variety of factors. Posture, stress, overuse, trauma, and injuries can lead to restricted motion throughout the body. After completing a thorough history and examination, Dr. Josh can determine the location of such restrictions through the use of direct and specific techniques to restore motion to the joints of the body.
Dr. Josh can do this using traditional chiropractic adjustments, activator adjustments, and drop table techniques.
IASTM/ Scraping/ "Tool Work":
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue (IASTM) or scraping is a manual therapy technique used to treat many musculoskeletal conditions. This technique breaks down myofascial tissue and scar tissue causing the body to heal the tissue.
These instruments allow more direct treatment of the soft tissues involved with the movement. The tissues include:
Fascia: connective tissue that surrounds and separates muscles.
Ligaments: tissue that connects bones to other bones.
Tendons: tissue that connects muscles to bones.
Cupping therapy creates a negative pressure environment allowing for myofascial decompression as the skin is drawn into the cups.
Cupping increases blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed. This may relieve muscle tension, which can improve overall blood flow and promote cell repair. It may also help form new connective tissues and create new blood vessels in the tissue.
Rehabilitation/ Corrective Exercises
Rehab/Corrective Exercises are used to address and fix movement compensations and imbalances in order to improve the overall quality of movement during workouts and in everyday life. Corrective Exercises are used to help assess and determine the root cause of imbalances and faulty movement patterns that lead to issues with posture, balance, and total body coordination.
Electrical Stimulatuon/ TENS
A TENS unit sends electrical pulses through the skin. These pulses control pain signals in the body, creating temporary or permanent relief from pain. They can control abnormally excited nerves and release endorphins.
TENS is considered highly effective in controlling pain. It can reduce the feelings of pain and prevent them from coming back in the future.
Taping is thin, flexible tape that is meant to relieve pain, reduce swelling and inflammation, and provide support to joints and muscles.
